About Me

A.D.D.The cartoon, pretty much sums it up.  I am just your average American citizen.  Nothing extraordinary.  I work hard to provide for my family, and I try to live each day for the glory of God.  Each day, I usually mess that up, but I know that God loves me and promises He’ll never leave me.

I grew up in Athens, WV, a small “Mayberry” type town in Southern West Virginia.  That’s not Southwest Virginia…we are an actual state.  I grew up during a period in time where we weren’t afraid to leave our doors unlocked at night, I respected my parents and anyone older than me, I got my butt whipped when I was out of line and I didn’t once think it was child abuse.

I played sports growing up, genuinely loving basketball, but also having an interest in football, tennis, running, swimming, and just about anything that required physical exertion.  I wasn’t great in any of them, but that was mostly due to my lack of drive and determination to be the best.  Looking back on my childhood, I wish I would have tried harder, but I learned from those experiences and I am more driven today.

After high school, I didn’t go far…about two blocks to be exact to Concord College (now Concord University).  I wandered around for three years as a communication arts major, then a biology major and finally found my passion in education.  I graduated with a degree in Physical Education and Health Education and several years later, earned a master’s degree in Instructional Design.

I have had my fair share of ups and downs and, Lord willing, i will live through many more in this life.  But what has always been constant for me is my love of God, my love of family and my desire to help those around me.
